Dave Beaumont - 1st Dan

Hi my name is Dave Beaumont, I am one of the old school Black Belts along with the likes of; Ted Simpson, June Vann, Harvey Smith, Gordon Limmage, Tony Hodgkin, Dave Gilding, Kevin King, Nagin Mistry, Lynne Conroy, Phil Bonsher, Jim Mcnair and Paul Clarke. Way back in the early 1970’s I went down to the Secular Hall after being told about the Karate classes that were held there. This is where my world changed after I started to train under Sensei Tony Conroy. I found the training to be all consuming and enjoyed every minute under Tony’s instruction. I really admired Tony’s self dedication and relentless training. I had my first 3 grading’s under Sensei Derick Langham  ’75’ to ‘76’ and then with Sensei K. Enoeda in ‘77’ for my 6 KYU, followed with my 5th and 6th KYU under Sensei H. Tomita, then once again with Sensei K. Enoeda for my 3rd KYU in 1981.Through the years I have had some private training sessions with Sensei Conroy which were fantastic along with Seminars under Sensei Terry O’Neil and Sensei K. Enoeda. The following years were when I faltered with my training, dedication and determination .There is not a day that goes by when I don’t think about my Karate. I first started training at the age of 18 and I am now 53. After all of the times when my training was sporadic, I thought that I must at last get my 1st Dan and with the help of Sensei Tony Conroy and Sensei Gordon Limmage  I did achieve this on the 15th September 1994, I know quite a wait for it. I would like to thank Sensei Tony Conroy for is never ending enthusiasm and dedication to Karate. I do hope to return to my training.
