Martin Hall - 2nd Dan

I started training in Shotokan Karate in 1975 at the age of 23 and was awarded the grade of 6th Kyu in December 1976 by Sensei Selwyn Gould of the Rising Sun School of Karate, Cardiff.

After a break of 15 years, I began training again in 1991 under the instruction of Sensei Reede Brown and was surprised at how quickly things came back to me. I was awarded 1st Dan by Sensei David Sharkey in 1993 and went on to gain my 2nd Dan under Sensei Anthony Conroy in 1996.

I also trained under Sensei Chico Mbakwe of the Welsh Shotokan Karate Union in Cardiff from 1999 - 2001.

Following another break from training, I resumed in 2009, again under the instruction of Sensei Reede Brown. Earlier on the same year I also took up the art of Tae Kwon Do.

I am grateful for all those that have kindly trained me at various times over the last 3 decades or so, with a special thanks to Reede for his teaching, encouragement and friendship.
